Symposium in Maxwell Centre

More than a hundred people came to the Maxwell Centre at the beginning of June for a two-day Symposium on Functional Electronic Materials, one of the interests of the late Abe Yoffe. Many of the contributors had been students or staff within Optoelectronics or the "Physics and Chemistry of Solids" Group, covering a period of five decades. It was organised by Professor Sir Richard Friend who asked them to speak on current topics that Abe would have liked to hear about. We were delighted to see many of his relatives, and Darwin hosted a special dinner for attendees.
