Sascha studied chemistry at the Universities of Heidelberg and Cambridge. After finishing his Master's thesis in the surface science group of Prof Petra Tegeder he returned to Cambridge for a PhD in physics within the optoelectronics group. He recently concluded his PhD works with Dr Felix Deschler and Prof Sir Richard Friend on ultrafast carrier dynamics in perovskites and other novel semiconductors.

Since October 2020 he is an EPSRC Doctoral Prize Fellow working on new molecular luminescent materials.
