Simon Kahmann’s work focuses on photophysics and optoelectronic properties of novel semiconductors. He is mainly concerned with metal halide perovskites, colloidal quantum dots, and organic semiconductors.
Simon received a double-doctorate from the University of Groningen (Netherlands) and the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (Germany) under the supervision of Maria A. Loi and Christoph J. Brabec for his studies on nanomaterials for optoelectronic applications. Having previously worked as a DFG research fellow focusing on tin-based and two-dimensional perovskites in Groningen, he joined StranksLab as a DAAD research fellow in January 2021.
