Getting Here

Bus

The frequent (Monday to Saturday) "U" service links many of the University's Departments. The route runs between Addenbrookes Hospital and Madingley Road Park and Ride via the Railway Station.
Members of the University can travel at reduced fare on production of a University Card.
It is also possible to see where buses are in real time.

Train

Trains run frequently from both London King's Cross and Liverpool Street stations - see National Rail Enquiries. King's Cross trains are usually faster, and are particularly convenient for International arrivals via the Eurotunnel at the neighbouring St Pancras terminal.
Cambridge station is over two miles from the Cavendish - you could catch a taxi or the Universal bus.

Car

On Madingley Road - where the road splits - look for J.J. Thomson Avenue where a sign says "University West Cambridge Site". The Cavendish Laboratory is at the far end. Note that the motorway M11 Junction 13 has access only to or from the south.

Parking space is limited. Please ask your host about booking a car park space through Reception, if you plan to travel by car.

On Foot

From the bus station it is a brisk 45 minute (2.5 miles / 4 km) walk to the Cavendish, if you know where you are going (via Burrell's Walk, Adam's Road and the Coton footpath - see also this cycle route), or you can take a taxi.

Air

All of the London International Airports are served by regular National Express buses to Cambridge. Stansted is the nearest airport. There is also a direct train service between Cambridge Station and London Stansted airport.
